The Conversation Starts Here

We’re all trying to process complex, nuanced social justice issues—and it’s easier when we do it together.

Our free monthly virtual group is open to all female-identifying teens. Facilitated by Daniela Miranda and Julie Goldberg, our meetings provide the welcoming space needed to freely and openly discuss difficult topics and connect with other teens nationwide that share your passion for social justice.

Our Philosophy

Modeled after the Caucus and Affinity Group Model, our lectures and workshops share one common goal: to emphasize the importance of white people processing race, privilege, and oppression with other white people.

Too often, white people wait to talk about race until they enter an interracial space, unfairly shifting the burden onto people of color. But people of color arrive at interracial dialogues with a much deeper understanding of racial dynamics and racism that white people won’t ever be able to attain.

Simply put, it doesn’t make sense for people of color to slow down their fight for social justice to accommodate white people—it’s on us to catch up. That’s where we come in.

Her Flowers gives white people the resources they need to be productive in conversations surrounding race and privilege; to understand systemic oppression and their role within an inherently racist social structure; and, ultimately, to enact meaningful social change in their communities.

These are urgent, difficult conversations; missteps are inevitable. Feelings of discomfort are completely normal when discussing issues like race, power, privilege, and oppression. We do everything we can to create open, welcoming, safe spaces—somewhere you can make mistakes, process complex problems, and grow as a person.

We invite you to join us; to take the time to reflect on your own privilege, slowly work through and understand nuanced social issues, and build the foundation you need for a lifetime of social justice work.

It’s an everyday fight—but it’s always easier when you have community by your side. Your journey towards better allyship starts here.

What People Are Saying

Participating in Her Flowers is such an amazing and inspiring experience. Being a teenager right now can feel overwhelming. We know we want to make a difference and make our voices heard, but we don’t always know how to help. The lectures are always fun and I've learned so much. I'm so excited to keep working with them and to watch Her Flowers grow!
